dear blogosphere.

Dear Blogosphere,

It's been a while. I've written two blogs but for you but forgot to save them and now they're gone forever. I hope our relationship won't suffer the same fate.

Since I last wrote you, Blogosphere, a lot has happened. Ryan and I took a Valentine's trip to Table Rock Lake and ended up staying in a condo owned by Yakov Smirnoff. It was covered in pictures of him and his paintings. It was a little weird, but the place was really nice. And then, on Saturday, Yakov came to visit. He walked in the front door and I didn't even have any pants on, Blogosphere! He made it about 2 feet into the condo and saw Ryan and I sitting in the living room. He apologized and left - it was really weird.

Other than that, we decided to start trying for a baby in May and then we decided not to. We decided to move and get and dog and we decided not to do those things either. Why did we change our minds, Blogosphere? Roller coasters. That's right - roller coasters. Most amusement parks within driving distance open in April and we need to be ready. You see, Ryan and I aren't just coaster enthusiasts - we're ride warriors. It's our destiny to travel the globe conquering coaster after coaster, the taller, the faster, the rougher the better. And if we got a dog we'd have to find a dog sitter when we went out on our coaster adventures. If we couldn't find one, the coasters could not be conquered and that is just not acceptable. Clearly we need some more freedom at least for this next summer.

Worlds of Fun opens April 17th and frankly, I'm finding it hard to wait. I'm not usually a thrill seeker, but when it comes to coasters, the freedom and excitement found on them is unbeatable, Blogosphere.

Oh, and slightly less important than coasters (Just kidding, blogosphere!) I got a new job! I now work at the Pentecostal Evangel, the weekly magazine for the Assemblies of God. I'm the Editorial Assistant to the Managing Editor. Basically, I keep things running smoothly - or at least I'm supposed to. Hopefully after this week I'll have everything down. Well, this is short and sweet, Blogospehere, but I'm getting tired. I hope you can forgive me for my extended absence. I won't stay away that long again!

You didn't try for a baby because of roller coasters?! ;)

But I liked your story about the condo, that is hilarious!

  2. Really it was because we prayed and felt like we should wait - and the coasters are just a side-effect. But it sounds more dramatic the other way!

  3. Yakov is kind of creepy...He had really creepy portraits of himself as Jesus in his theater. George was pretty frightened. Also, Yakov had pictures of himself in the bathrooms.

Miss you Emily! I enjoy your blog.
